A brochure is a larger sheet folded down into panels. It reads in a set order as the reader opens it, which makes it a good fit for anything that needs a little explanation: a list of services, a property tour, a restaurant menu, a program for an event. Businesses in Oakville, Mississauga and Burlington use brochures at counters, trade shows and client meetings.
Options and sizes
We print brochures on 100lb gloss text or on 16pt stock, one or two sided. The fold you pick changes how the content flows, so choose it before you start designing.
- Half fold: one fold, four panels. Simple and clean.
- Roll fold: panels roll inward so each opens in turn.
- Z fold: accordion style, handy for step-by-step content.
- Tri-fold: the classic letter fold, six panels.
- Double parallel fold: two folds that make a compact, many-panel piece.
- Gate fold: two side panels that open like doors to reveal the centre.
Sheet size depends on the fold. A letter-size sheet folded in three is common, but ask us about other sizes. Heavier stock is usually scored before folding so the fold lies flat and the coating does not crack.

Tips for great results
Design each panel as its own small page. The front panel should say who you are and why to keep reading.
Leave extra space near folds. Text that sits right on a crease is hard to read and can look crooked after folding. Keep important copy at least a quarter inch from any fold line, and add bleed to the edges.
If you are not sure which fold fits your content, our guide to brochure folds compares them side by side. Planning a table at an event? The trade show printing checklist covers what else to bring. For a shorter piece, a flyer may do the job.
Do you score the brochure before folding?
Yes, folds on heavier stock are scored so they crease cleanly. Ask us if you want to confirm this for your paper choice.
Which fold is best for a menu?
A half fold or tri-fold is a common choice. A gate fold looks more special, while a Z fold works well when you want to show courses in order.
Can you print brochures on both sides?
Yes. Brochures are normally printed on both sides so the inside and outside panels are all used.
